It's been quite awhile since I bought a bike seat, but I don't remember it being that expensive. That style has been around for quite awhile and there's probably enough competition to keep the prices sane. They really do solve the problem of numb naughty bits. Even if it's a choice of expensive seat or gangrene of the crotch, the seat is cheaper.
