Holy mother of crap. I seriously thought I was going to die in a very bizarre way tonight.

The storms in Chicago were OUTRAGEOUS today, so naturally I had to drive from the city out to the Western suburbs for a graduation party. On a Friday, past Wrigley Field when the Cubs were playing at home, with downed tree limbs and flooding everywhere.

A trip that should take 40-50 minutes took me 2 hours and 20 minutes. That was all kinds of awesome.

Anyway, I finally got off the expressway and I was driving through the burbs on my way to the restaurant when a second round of storms hit. It was getting so bad that I was starting to look for place to pull over. That's when I saw all the American flags decorating the street lights every 50 feet or so start SHOOTING out of their flag holders and into the street like patriotic javelins. I seriously thought "Okay the paramedics are going to arrive and find me with an American flag jutting out of my chest." That was freaky. I don't understand how the wind picked up so strong and so specifically that it threw all the flags across the street in the same way.

Glad you made it safe. The description of flag holders were nice. Reminded me of Damien Omen II where there is some kind of satanic induced storm launched I believe a cross comes down down right a priest's chest chest.

8. That's exactly what it looked like–some kind of invisible demonic force launching

those flags out into the street. They had really sharp looking decorative tops too.
