1. For me it was Arrogant Bastard.
I went to a frat party in San Diego and we had four kegs of it. Yeah I had the worst hangover ever the next morning.

2. TJ Swan "Easy Nights."
Did you know that you can stop a dorm bed from spinning by placing one foot on the floor? Also, don't listen to evil so-called "friends" who tell you as a gullible college freshman that the cure for a wine hangover is drinking lots of cold water first thing in the morning.

8. OMD, teh nostalgia!
I hadn't thought of T.J. Swan (Swann?) since about 1974. Boone's Farm and Annie Green Springs, yeah. I even remember part of the Boone's Farm teevee ads — the music sounded like the Byrds.

Besides "Easy Nights," they had "Mellow Days." What were the others?

I don't remember the other TJ Swann "flavors," but there's much about my first year of college I don't readily recall and it's probably just as well.

Any other geezers remember that swill?
If so you will relate to this: "fishing" at the U-Totem! My friend and I got some guy to buy us a couple of bottles and we went to the chevron station bathroom, chugged a bottle each and then RAN a mile and a half up to the school to watch the boys play little league baseball.

OMG. I puked for HOURS that evening.

11. Budweiser talls
There was one clerk at a liquor store who didn't bother with silly things like ID. Shaking like hell, I bought a six there one evening and got plowed. I was 17 or 18.

A couple weeks later, the store's front windows were boarded up. Oops. :)

I do remember thinking I could fly off of a swing. I was about 12 or so. I probably still have the scars.

Try to picture a company picnic on That 70's Show, and that would be about it. We snuck beers out of the cooler while the 'rents were toasted around a firepit.

Man, my buddy--older and smaller--would drive around (chevy Nova) until I scored a 12 pack of that shit. Plaid Pantry, Circle K, any damn convenience store in our way.

The shit will fuck you up.

I was 16 back then. I'd get carded 50% of the time.

I am 45 now and I got carded yesterday down the safeway. The god damn goons on the local PD and the draconian fines (and firings) got the clerks shit-scared.

sigh.

Come to think of it, I was smoking dope at 13. Didn't drink till 16. Don't know what to make of that.
