I have always been late with these kinds of projects: Chickens
Been meaning to do something like this for a while. I was going to post weekly shots, but that got put off right away. At least I took some! Here is the age progression:

4 days - 24 hours after arrival, box in the living room

8 days - first day in the coop, finally

15 days

23 days - a few are getting up on the lower perches, time for the big feeders already

28 days - starting to look like little chickens

37 days - getting a little crowded in here, about time to go out into the yard, heat lights can go off

54 days (Saturday) mostly all feathered out, but about half grown

I'll skip the pic I took today. :grr:

3. awesome
Hi,
Thanks for posting these, I would so love to have some chickens. I live in a city and my neighbor had some, they were fun to watch and really beautiful. Hehe, watermelon rinds eh? I won't ask about the picture not posted.

Have you ever read the book Animal, Vegetable, Miracle?

Peace

5. I love your barred rocks, kali!
I want some of them and some more buff orpingtons. It is amazing how quickly they grow from those little puff balls. LOL And so much fun to watch.

Quite the lovely brood. :hi:
