Has anyone else had this happen?(puss involved)

Note: I am not asking for nor accepting any sort of medical advice. I just want to know if I am the only freak or if there are others.

So, I get some sort of zit thing on my ear lobe. Its been happening for years now, periodically. Ive never pierced my ear, its always the same ear in the same spot. It feels like a half sized BB implanted under my skin, right about where you would pierce your earlobe. If I squeeze it it hurts and swells. If I worry at it, it will eventually pop, just like any other zit. Sometimes this is the end, sometimes it regenerates immediately. Bleeds wonderfully if I squeeze enough to make sure its really gone. No head to it ever, though

Then it just goes away. I have months or even a year, not a sign of anything, then suddenly i am scratching my ear and notice the fucker is back. If I leave it alone, it just stays small and there, and bugs the hell out of me, even though it is not painful or anything.

Anyone else?

My beautiful daughter has one on her ear, a long ago boyfriend had a similiar 'thing' and yes I have personal experience, but I won't say where it is located.

not in my earlobe but have had a few same-location "bumps"/zits/cysts whatever you want to call them. May be a chronic localized infection, may be hormonal - soap and water and don't worry unless it makes rapid changes.

10. I had a little bump on my nose for YEARS

and I kept trying to pop it like a zit.

Finally I realized it was a round structure and I totally took an x-acto knife and dug it out.

It was completely gnarly, but it hasn't been back. :D

It's either a chronically infected sweat/oil duct or a chronically infected hair follicle.

Mine doesn't bother me enough to actually give a shit about it. It inflames every year or so.

They come and go and while I can feel them with my fingers, they are not visually noticeable, and they don't cause any pain or itching. I just checked and my left ear is clear but the right one has one. I just don't mess with them at all.


PS. I thought this was about a kitty at first. The word is spelled "pus". :)

Thats exactly how mine are. Not visually noticeable, unless of course i worry at them and end up with a bleeding hole. I have one now, and I am doing my damndest to leave it alone. But my fingers have this tendancy to do their own thing when I am distracted(phone call, tv, that kinda thing. So far so good.

Sorry about the misunderstanding. I was trying to help people who would like puss and dislike pus be able to avoid the thread. I apparently failed miserably, but its too late to fix it now.

24. Welcome to the world of sebacious cysts

Do pretty much what you're doing, just let it grow and when it bugs you enough, hold a hot washcloth over it to loosen up the skin and gently squeeze to see if it wants to let loose. If on the third squeeze you're not getting anywhere give up and wait a few days. If you do get something, don't try to force it all out if it starts to sting. Leave it for an hour and you will probably get a little bit more out of it. Then immediately clean the area with rubbing alcohol, not peroxide.

The idea is to clear out the dead crap, but not to cause any more damage than has already been done.

They can be removed permanently by surgery, but it gets expensive real quick.
