My brother needs a triple by-pass surgery and he has no insurance.
His only hope is the VA, he was in the Navy.

I don't think we will get some kind of national health care in time.

He has some land he could sale.

My brother was a republican.

Nothing like a health problem to make you start to think.

1. The VA will take care of him if he is eligible.
All new Enrollment Priority 8 veteran applicants have been rejected if they applied on or after January 17, 2003. If he enrolled before then he should be OK. If not, he can still sign up if his Enrollment Priority is higher than 8. To determine Enrollment Priority, hit this link:

http://www.va.gov/healtheligibility/eligibility/

Even Priority 8 vets can sign up if they pass a means test, but you pretty much have to be living in a dumpster to be under the threshold.

If he's not already enrolled, jump on this right away. The approval process takes awhile, several months IIRC.

2. Thanks for the link, I just ran the kid's dad's numbers and he's eligible.
He got let go a while back and his new job has no health care bennies, so I'll make sure he applies.

5. :^( I hope that they can find a financial way to work this. My dad is also in
bad shape heart-wise, but in his case it's that it's gotten too bad to actually fix. :(
