Movie experts! I need your help!
About a year an a half ago, I saw a documentary film that was composed of scenes from around the world, with no dialogue. Just scenes of scenery, people going about their business, etc. Very moving. Visually stunning.
I can't remember the name. It was a foreign word, starting with "B", that's all I can remember. The word was supposed to mean peace or harmony or something like that. I don't have enough info for IMDB.
Any ideas?

6. Phillip Glass did the incredible score for "The Fog of War."
The docu-interview with Robert Strange McNamara. Incredible music for the fire-bombing of Japan in WW-2.

7. Here's the IMDB summary of Baraka
Without words, cameras show us the world, with an emphasis not on "where," but on "what's there." It begins with morning, natural landscapes and people at prayer: volcanoes, water falls, veldts, and forests; several hundred monks do a monkey chant. Indigenous peoples apply body paint; whole villages dance. The film moves to destruction of nature via logging, blasting, and strip mining. Images of poverty, rapid urban life, and factories give way to war, concentration camps, and mass graves. Ancient ruins come into view, and then a sacred river where pilgrims bathe and funeral pyres burn. Prayer and nature return. A monk rings a huge bell; stars wheel across the sky.

*******************************************

it's really powerful. Full of world music, beautiful images, disturbing images, and incredible camera-work. There's a shot of traffic in a city that is just mind-boggling.

9. Speaking of Phillip Glass
Has anyone else seen the play "1000 Airplanes On The Roof"? I saw it 10 years ago and was absolutely blown away.
