do you have a tattoo nightmare story?
One of my best friends back home is a bright Irish lass named Shelby. A few years ago, she got the flag of Ireland tattooed on her left breast above the slogan "erin go bragh."

Before the appointment she asked her brother how to spell that. Unfortunately, he was of the common misconception that the word "bragh" contains a "u." Shelby only learned this after the tattoo was applied. :(

What's your tattoo nightmare?

3. Not exactly nightmare, but disappointment...but I think it can be fixed...
When I was in Canada on business, my hubby forgot my birthday so I bought myself a present and got a tattoo of a unicorn on my right calf. It's significant to me because I have always liked unicorns (thought to be an archetype of Christ by some) and it is half of the symbol of Great Britain, where I used to live, and I am half British, so anyway...
I had not really refined the design, and had a MAJOR migraine when I stopped in on a whim to take advantage of the much cheaper price in Canada (the migraine pain went away while I was getting inked, oddly, but not the foggy 'aura' thing...) so there are a couple things that I did not notice until later. I need to have the design modified because the hooves are not cloven, and that drives me NUTS...couple other little teeny details. And now I want to have a banner with the Brit flag added in the background; the unicorn is just one color, and I think it looks a little dull, since the one I have on my other leg (a wooden cross, encircled by a crown of thorns, with one red rose in full bloom on the crown itself, in memory of my daughter and in hope that we will be reunited one day...)
SO!
That's my tale.

5. Not exactly a tatoo
But I let Zack write on my ankle in green sharpie. It still says "Hi!" on my leg three days later. I'll get him back, I swear.

6. It wasn't my nightmare but...
A few years ago I was working a construction job. I walked on to the job and noticed the plumber using a jackhammer on the floor wasn't wearing any shoes. I thought I had seen everything. Then I looked up and saw the drywall hanger. He had a third eye tattooed on his forehead. Can you imagine going on a job interview or meeting your perspective in-laws with a third eye tattooed on your forehead?

10. When I was at boot camp,
One of the Company Commanders had eye's tatooed into the back of his head. I thought while that was certainly novel, it was pretty short sighted (no pun intended).

7. When my husband had my name tattooed on his arm.
I know he was sorry he did that, since we were divorced a few years later. And he later was married again twice. I'm sure his wives didn't like seeing my name every day.

8. Even t hough we have been married almost 19 years, I would still never
get any name other than that of my children or grandchildren tattooed, and probably not even that...I don't need my daughter's name on 'her' tattoo for me to know it's for her.

9. Here's a real nightmare
A friend of mine had a tattoo applied in the mid 90s, a couple of years ago he had a blood test for insurance purposes and discovered he had contracted HVC (Hepatitis C) and is reasonably certain the tattoo was the source.

11. 4 tatoos...no nightmares...
I always go to the same group of artists, and the studio is cleaner than any hospital.
