1. "This Poem Sucks"

Oh, wait, I already wrote that one in college and actually got it published in the college poetry review - friend of mine was on the decision committee. She said that when the committee was meeting the conversation went like this:

My friend: Okay, next up... Oh, "This Poem Sucks."
Faculty Advisor: That's not a nice thing to say about someone's poem!
My friend: The name of the poem is, "This Poem Sucks."

If I recall my own work, my favorite line was:

This poem bites
It's like a cat in an ice machine
A cat in a what?
What the hell does that mean?

I was a bored junior.

2. Years and years ago, when I was in school....

...and working in a convenience store, one of my coworkers, an English major, wrote our (overworked and totally stressed out) manager a sonnet. In response, I wrote a poem that was really, really bad. I wish I could remember it all, but I offer you the following line (the only one I actually can remember) as a taste:

"But I can write a worser poem than ever once our Vince did."
