How are you today?

Well, I am back from my vacation. One week Toscany ... Sigh ... what a gorgeous area. So much culture, so much beautiful scenery, so much yummy food .... so much sun :D

I think I will post some pictures in an extra thread so watch for it. Not sure I will be able to post it today, quite some work is waiting for me here. My desk is full of books.

I haven't been to Pisa. But my mom and her bf were. Apparently the tower is still leaning but people are allowed to go on it again. When I was there 15 years ago it wasn't possible.

Yeah, I saw that I made it to the finals. I am still amazed. I know I won't win this contest but I am happy I made it to the finals.

I was having a blast.

I arrived Friday, Aug 14th at 7pm in Pisa. Didn't see much of Pisa, but I was there before so I didn't miss out much.
Saturday we went to Arezzo.
Sunday we stayed home and enjoyed the pool. Also we went to Lari (the town we stayed at).
Monday we went to Pistoia, Plato and Vinci.
Tuesday we stayed home and enjoyed the pool.
Wednesday we went to Florence.
Thursday we stayed home and enjoyed the pool. We went on a short drive around Lari and I saw the gorgeous nature. Also bought some olive oil.
Friday we went to San Gimignano in the evening and had a yummy dinner there.
Saturday we left :(

I was off all last week so I did a lot of relaxing around the house. Coming back was a chore, though. Tons of work piled up.

In the meantime, I brewed grain beer from scratch. Sprouted the grain, malted it, cracked it with mortar and pestle, steeped it (mashed and laudered) and I'll check it later in the week.
