If they remade Heathers...
Yeah, not saying they SHOULD, but it seems inevitable. So who plays what?

Sorry I don't remember the character names for the most part, so:

Winona Ryder's part?
J.D. (Christian Slater)

The first Heather to die,
Shannon Doherty's Heather
the last Heather, who lives.

Margaret Dumptruck

The two jocks.

The dad who loves his dead gay son.

Winona's ma and pa.

The hippie guidance counselor/teacher.

12. They just remade Dawn of the Dead.
I think it's being released on Friday. I saw a screening of it and you know what? It's good. The production values, and the acting skills of the cast are superior to the original. I know, I know---this sounds like blasphemy. But if you loved the original (as I did---it was filmed in my hometown of Pittsburgh, at the very mall I spent my childhood in), I think you might be pleasantly surprised by this well-done remake. It doesn't possess the singular, twisted vsion of George Romero, but it makes up for this in other ways.

I don't think they'll ever remake Heathers, but if they do, they'll need Dan Waters on board, as it was his great, great script that made the original what it was. Frankly, when I see Heathers now, I am increasingly annoyed by Christian Slater's teen Jack Nicholson impersonation throughout the film. He really didn' turn out to be an actor of much rnage, did he? On the plus side, "Heathers" is probably Winona Ryder's best work.

2. Ooh, I love these:
My friends and I love to sit around re-casting classic movies. We've never tried "Heathers", one of my personal favorites. Well, here goes:

Veronica -- (Wynona Ryder's Part) -- Christina Ricci
JD -- (Christian Slater's Part) -- Benjamin McKenzie from "The OC"

Heather Chandler (First to Die) -- Piper Perabo
Heather #2 -- Shannen Doherty) -- Hillary Duff
Heather Dukes -- Anna Paquin

Martha Dunstock/Dumptruck -- I don't remember her name, but she's getting rave reviews for the starring role in "Hairspray" on Broadway

Kurt and Ram (The Jocks) -- James VanDerBeke and Tom Welling

Kurt's Dad -- John Goodman

Veronica's Folks -- Patty Hearst and Christopher Atkins (think of the humor in that pairing. Plus, Patty IS now doing cameos in films)

Hippie Teacher -- Wynona Ryder

JD Sociopathic Dad -- Robin Williams

Just my 2 cents

4. Did you know that the first Heather to die died?
Yeah, Kim Walker aka Heather Chandler died back in 2002 of brain cancer, she was 32. Pretty weird huh?

6. I loved this movie
It came out the summer after I graduated from high school. Boy did it ring true.

But I think they are remaking it...sort of. Tina Fey's new movie Mean Girls.

The little girl from Party of Five is one of the mean girls, and Lindsay Lohan is the Winona Ryder type.

15. They would never re-make it
In this day in age where suburban kids have actually killed each other, this might set a "bad example" and "encourage violence".

Great movie though.
