4. Dentist's drill is the worst
I'm not sure what is the best. Candidates:

laughter
sound of geese flapping wings while flying overhead
rumble of thunder
piano
...

9. forgot all about leaf blowers
If I were king they would be promptly outlawed. All except the much quieter electric ones.

7. Those dentist drills are pretty nasty
I worked in a hospital that had a dental clinic. I could handle going into the morgue, the OR and patient room no problem. Spending time in the clinic hearing those drills on the other hand:crazy:

11. Mine
Best: A baby's coo, a heartfelt "thank you", the hum of contented bees, the patter of much needed rain, the hiss of wind in pine trees, the crack of a baseball bat and the cheer as the ball goes into orbit, now a fading memory -- the whistle of a steam locomotive making a night passage, Mozart.

Worst: "It might have been. *sigh."

26. The creak and slam of an old fashioned wooden screen door
distant thunder, soft rain, the music of Grieg, the whistle of an elk, tea kettles and the howling of my Siberian Husky.

The worst-car alarms and horns, gunshots, breaking glass, anything my boss says and Sean Hannity.
