It's been DECADES. I'm watching "The Hunger" with David Bowie,
Catherine Deneuve and Susan Sarandon. Is it pure cheese? Yes it is. Is it, ya know, EMBLEMATIC of my youthful years? Well, no. But it's the movie that indicated to me that I like girls just about as much as boys.

What an excellent, fucked up, false world. I wanna go back.

2. I don't remember the movie as much as I remember
the book -- I remember it scared the crap out of me, LOL. Of course, I was a teenager then so it might not be as scary as I thought it was back then...

Okay, now I want to see the movie again.

4. The movie is really cool!
It sounds like you are a bit younger than I am but you might still like the *dated* eighties style and music. Maybe not... give it a try.

3. I love that film!!
There is so much about that movie that I like... The music and art direction are great... I also like the use of (or sparse use of) sound in general... I can almost hear some the scenes in my mind.

I haven't seen it in a while... I wonder if it will hold up to how I remember it.

5. So far it's working for me, and it's been a long while since I saw it last.
Try it again, you might like it better than you'd expect to like a trendy vampire film. It's still amazingly sexy and the use of classical music is sorta soul-stirring. You know, for a cheesy film. :D

6. I read the book first.
Later saw the film. I thought it was pretty good at the time. Since you inspired me, I checked the library catalogue. They have the DVD. And one copy on the shelf (not that means they actually have it). And this is an extra movie night weekend, so I'll try to pick it up tomorrow.

Though I recently finished season one of True Blood, so I'm probably jaded.

7. I will venture to say
You might still enjoyu it, after True Blood.

Been wrong before, though. And you are bikebloke, which makes my failure even more certain.

10. Saw it...again after all these years
It holds up pretty good. Though you could say it's almost a period piece (crikey, has time flown when you can call an 80's flick a period piece). It's very stylistic. Though sometimes the director's a bit heavy handed with the stylism.

Now I'm trying to remember where I saw it. I spent most of the 80's living out of a backpack, exploring the world.

8. I haven't seen it in 20 years, but...
I recall really enjoying the scene with Bowie in the waiting room, where he grows old over the course of a few hours.

Kind of freaked me out back in the day.

9. OMG Bessie Love is in that movie!

One of my favorite silent/early talkie actresses!

And Beth Ehlers, who went on to play Harley on Guiding Light.

Now I have to see if Netflix has it. Thanks Crim Son!
