A real "tinfoil hat"

I'm an enforcement officer for a humane society working primarily in rural areas. I have run into my share of nutbars, like the couple who insisted that the reason their cattle were dying of dehydration was because the UFO's were landing to drain the water from the ponds. They use it as fuel, you know.

But today was a first. This "client" wears a polished steel construction helmet. He is quite open about preventing the aliens reading his mind. He told me that thy do it on instructions from "Adrian" who stays on the mother ship near Neptune and sends subordinates to influence his behaviour.

Does anyone else have similar tales. I thought they were urban myths.

1. One poor lady

I had to work with in Northern Wisconsin, thought the "moonbeams" were making her crazy. We didn't know that much about alzheimer's back then. She covered all of her windows with tinfoil and refused to go outside.

2. Schizophrenia.

It's weird how similar the symptoms are among people from all walks of life. The whole "the government is after me" and also "there are microphones in the fillings in my teeth" are also other well known paranoid delusions.

It's really strange that the tinfoil thing is so prevelant in schizophrenics.
