My wife has to have her gall bladder out so I try to explain it to Josie (hilarious)
Josie is sitting on my knee. I am just sure this is going to be some great "father time"

Me:Okay not next week but the week after that MaGran and Grandaddy are going to come here and stay with us a while. Daddy might be going away for a few days (business trip to NYC) and Mommy has to go to the hospital.

Josie: The HOSpital?
Me: Yeah

Josie:Is she going to have my little sister?
:rofl: (she really wants a little sister)

Me: No honey she has to ....(thinking if I should use the word)...she has to have a surgery

Josie: A SURgery? What's a surgery?

Me: Well, a surgery is when a doctor goes inside a person's body and either takes something out or fixes something (nice clean-straight forward)

Josie:He can't do that
Me:Why not?

Josie: He's too big!

:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

----------------------------------

She took "inside" LITERALLY, thinking that doctors actually climb inside a human body

Too funny

:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

1. My dear underpants!
I think you did great, and Josie is obviously very intelligent!

The world through kids' eyes.....you cannot make this stuff up!

Good on ya!

And I hope your wife's surgery is quickly recovered from...

:hug:

By now you have noticed it is impeccable and we adults are not the best communicators. ;)

Thanks for posting your discussion. Much needed sanity and giggles at the end of the week. :hi:

edited cuz I'm not the best communicator

14. Rule of thumb: anybody over about nine has communication problems
The older we get, the more we dice words, Up until we get old enough to not give a damn. At some point, when time gets shorter, we revert to kid logic. Probably a reason kids and grandparents are such good matches. ;)

6. If you ever have to tell her someone has a broken arm
or leg- make sure she understands that it isn't broken off- that's what it means to a child!

10. You should have told her...
that doctors spend all that time in school learning how to get really small.

my 4 year old grand daughter/

conversational question was: 'Do you know any of the continents?'

her reply: 'you mean like a,e,i,o, and u ?'

She's piecing it together...

haven't seen a pic of Josie lately... (Of course, I can understand why some people don't want to post their kids on the internet, so it's no big deal if that's something you don't want to do).
