I can understand putting Bush or Hitler on the cover of Time magazine but Glenn fucking Beck...
...is taking things to far.

I don't want to see his ugly mug sticking his tongue out at me. Come on, even Bush had more class than that.
Beck seems to enjoy his boorishness.

Fucker.

1. when's the last time you talked about a TIME cover, or one had this much
exposure/discussion nationwide

they had a pretty good idea this would happen, just like the Coulter cover

has Michael Moore ever been likewise 'honored?'

4. it's only a matter of, uh, time before they fold their sorry tent. they're doing
anything they can to scrounge a few more sales/subscriptions

have you seen how skinny that rag is these days? it's gotten almost as small as their TIME for kids, which is about four or six pages

that said, I am fervently hoping for a very public and very spectacular breakdown. I don't think he can handle his mega-notoriety much long...fingers crossed, anyway

3. I tore it off and put it through the paper shredder immediately
after I took it from the mailbox.

My subscription is up in December. I've subscribed since HS some 35 years and I'm seriously considering letting my subscription run out. The Palin fluff piece was bad enough but this is just wretched. This and the fact that the magazine gets thinner every week and filled with less news than entertainment crap. If I wanted that, I'd subscribe to People. Is Newsweek any better?

5. Yeah, well, you've nailed it: "Beck seems to enjoy his boorishness."
Remember the "sexual harassment" clip? The original comments almost seemed to pale in light of his "apology," which was a certified snark-fest, mocking what he felt was "one little slip" in a "distinguished" career.

Anyone who doesn't know what I'm talking about can head over to YouTube and do a search on "Glenn Beck sexual harassment." I've posted the clip (both the original and the "apology") numerous times on DU, but tonight I'm just too damned lazy to go hunting for it, so the "LINK???" people among us are simply S.O.L.

Enjoy it? Of course he enjoys it.

:toast:
