I don't even know who she is outside of the occasional promo on Myspace. She clearly isn't a black metal or doom band. Any flamefest that I'm clueless about can never be a "classic". ;)

The first time I ever heard her stuff was on SNL this past Saturday. She's more talented than the average wannabe who takes the stage, she's good-looking, but aside from that and her own professed bisexuality, that's all I know about her.

Having said that, I just purchased the latest CD from In Slaughter Natives, so I can't really comment on the prospects of contemporary American pop, although I will admit there is a certain "Justin Timberlake" quality about Lady G. And the kid knows his chops, too.
