2. well. I just pulled 19 tomatoes off my volunteer tonight, as they're freezing, literally,
on the vine.

only one turned red. the rest are hard as rock and green

what's the best way to fix them?

thx

btw, the red one weighs well over a pound, and tastes better than any I've had this year. glad I got it tonight, because some critter had taken a small bite out of it. I cut that part away

4. They should ripen eventually...
Tips for speeding up the process here: http://tipnut.com/ripen-tomatoes/

Or, you can make relish or chow-chow...

It's absolutely delicious! As good as any apple pie. :9

I'm not real big on frying them.

:hi:

5. No recipe, but a tip...
I have never made fried green tomatoes, so I don't have a recipe. But, a Southern friend of mine recommends that you get the tomatoes really, really cold (but not frozen) before battering and frying them. I guess that keeps them from turning to mush.

6. first, have a daughter, grow her up, have her learn to cook, then dump her
boyfriend, and move back home. then, slice the tomatoes thin- 1/4", dip in your favorite batter, then in cornmeal. fry in more oil than is good for you. enjoy.
