"The Blind Side" See it. Not a spoiler, but the best first lines:
I have no idea if the lines are true or not, but Sandra Bullock does a voice over during the opening credits:
"The highest paid player on a professional football team is the quarterback. The second highest paid team member is the left tackle.
Most quarterbacks are right handed.
Their left side is their blind side.
First, you pay the mortgage.
Next you pay the insurance.
"

From imdb:
A homeless youth finds his place with a generous woman and her family, and discovers a future he never thought possible. Wonderful, is the best way to describe what this film is. The production team brought their A game to this drama. Direction and cinematography really grabbed my attention, especially during the football games. All actors delivered believable performances, with Sandra Bullock and Quinton Aaron shining above the others. The story is based on the real life events of, now rookie offensive tackle, Michael Oher, whose life is changed by interior designer and mother Leigh Anne Touhy. The writers did a really good job of delivering their story and kept great flow throughout. I felt inspired by the film as I'm sure you'll share after experiencing the lives of this unique family.

1. The 'kid' in the movie now plays left tackle for the Baltimore Ravens.
They just won a place in the playoffs.

3. Line I enjoyed most spoken by Mr. Touhy:
"Who'd have thought we'd have a black son before we knew a Democrat?"

The screenwriter John Lee Hancock is from Texas and did a good job of capturing the wealthy Southern Republican culture with this comment and others made by Mrs. Touhy's pals. The movie wasn't really political, but Hancock managed to get in a few choice digs.

5. It really is. It's a good story about nice people, trying to do the right
thing. The type of story Hollywood doesn't like telling very often.

6. Oher is a wonderful player and his blocking
(well that and McGahee's running and Flacco's coolness) are what got the Ravens into the playoffs. I never cared for football until I married my husband who is a Ravens fan and I've gotten to like the game and the Ravens very much over the years. The Ravens are lucky to have Oher.
