:hi: :pals: I am so psyched about the Olympics - well, when I'm not shoveling the 2 plus feet of snow we have here, and now a blizzard warning! We are hibernating up here on the "mountain"

How are things, stayin warm?

7. It was 0F out here on the Tundra this AM...
even the dogs flew back in!

Three of weeks ago, we had a blizzard that was beyond belief...drifts well over 10' it was horrid!

Things are starting to look a little better for the future though...next week might warm up a tad...if it gets over 30F, I'm planting a couple of palm trees and getting a hammock!

Great to see you on the Boards...I rarely pop into the Lounge, but I couldn't resist after seeing that pic...:D

:pals:

25. The morning after it came down...and winds were wailing at 40+...
I walked to the PO, a distance of 6 blocks, it took me an hour and a half! I got stuck in one drift and had to "swim" out of it...on my stomach, pulling my self across the top w/my arms! When I got to the PO, I found out there would be no mail that day, as the truck had been unable to pass through the snow from the distribution center, 75 miles to the East!...

It was horrid.

Last Mon, I went to p/u my son from work, it was white-out conditions w/the new soft snow picked up by 30 mph winds and visibility was about 45 feet, if that, most of the time. People driving w/o their lights on in low visibility situations like that made driving close to suicidal...:eyes:

The one good thing about all of this...the water will get into the ground and it should be a beautiful spring...:woohoo:

9. You should come over here to Indiana so you don't have to shovel so much.
Just got in from shoveling for 45 minutes. Maybe about 4 inches. Have a somewhat longer than usual driveway.

I guess I won't need to do my 2 mile walk this morning.

10. That will probably keep the Canadians away from the US.
They might think it is something they could catch.

17. I look forward to the Olympics...
I'm not a huge Sports fan, bu there is something about people competing in an Olympic Event that is just so cool. It's not about money, a little about fame, and all about honest competition.

Sure, I love to see USA all over the place...but when I see someone outside the "pack" win, it really is thrilling...:D

A sense of national pride for a country that rarely gets recognition is always heartwarming.

20. Can't wait for the hockey to get going.
The Winter Olympics is when all the good sports happen. People hurling themselves down icy mountains, skiing AND shooting...and that's just the fans!
