1. That's Rough
I quit smoking 21 years ago, and I still dream I am smoking when my stress levels are pretty high. Funny thing is that in those dreams I always say, "oh, crap, now I have to quit all over again."

I think the dreams are one of the ways our brains deal with the emotional aspect of walking away from an addiction. I know it sucks, but it is so worth it.

Hang in there, Roon. If you need to talk I am a good listener.

5. I Hope It Works Well for You
Really. I know how difficult it is to kick an addiction. Sending good karma your way, Roon. I'll be thinking about you.

3. It happens to everyone - your mind does not like that behavioral change
and is saying to you "What the Fuck!!!!"

I used to wake up tasting the drinks I had been dreaming about, convinced I had actually had them.

It does take a while to get over it - your brain has to catch up with reality. Let it serve as just another good reason to stop - that addiction thing is very real, and it sucks.

Good luck and congratulations!!!

4. That's normal.
I've had a few drinking dreams where I woke up feeling guilt and despair, and not realizing it was just a dream. Whew!
