Poll question: Best filmmaker once associated with Your Show of Shows/Ceasar's Hour?
What person once associated with Your Show of Shows/Ceasar's Hour went on to make the best movies?
By 'filmmaker' in this case, I mean anyone arguably the primary creative force behind the movie, whether director, writer, or producer.

1. Baz Luhrmann
Although I have no idea what "Your Show of Shows" is/was, so my choice is undoubtedly wrong. :)

Hey, at least I bumped your poll.

2. Your Show of Shows was the funniest program
ever on television. Imogene Coca and Sid Cesar kept a whole country laughing in the 1950s.

3. Your Show of Shows was a variety show in the 50's. Much like Carol Burnett's show years later.
It left the air then came back a year later as Caesar's Hour-- essentially the same show with the same people. The old Dick Van Dyke show was supposed to be a behind the scenes take on Your Show of Shows with the fictitious "Alan Brady" being a stand-in for the real Sid Caesar. The film "My Favorite Year" was a thinly veiled story about it, too.

5. The Woodman
He retained the humor, but developed character driven drama in his flicks.

Mel Brooks comes in second for continuing and making mainstream Borscht belt humor.
