Cats and musical taste
Oliver hates Engelbert Humperdinck. How do I know this? Every time I play him, Oliver leaves. I play a wide variety of music--jazz, pop, New Age, classical, folk, classic rock, progressive rock, soundtracks--just about everything except for some C&W, rap and metal rock, so when Oliver can sit patiently, purring, listening to such items as the Pastoral Symphony and Flight of the Bumblebee, and then get up and take off when Engelbert comes on right after, it's not just my imagination. As a matter of fact, he has, in the past, left the room a few seconds into an Engelbert song, and come back in immediately after Engelbert is finished. It's happened quite frequently, too, especially when I play a playlist where the songs are scrambled.

Delenn doesn't seem to care. She just gets into his spot when he leaves, and settles down. Go figure.

1. How does Oliver feel about Tom Jones?
I used to think the two had similar sounding voices

3. I don't listen to much Tom Jones
But I haven't noticed he cares one way or the other. For a cat, he has generally good taste, but I'm not going to stop listening to Engelbert just to satisfy him!!

I think I'm going to find a decent cover of "AlleyCat" though, and see if it becomes his "meow." :P

5. See if you can find, "What's new, Pussycat?"
Tom Jones did that song. It might become a nice way to greet Oliver when you come home from work or school.

6. That's a good one there!
It's harder to find Alley Cat as I've checked. But "Pussycat" should be around someplace.

2. When I put Mahler on the stereo, the kitties come into the front room,
curl up in their favorite places, and fall asleep listening.

But, then again, I do the very same thing.

4. Mosche hates Anna Netrebko.
He howls pitifully when I put on one of her CDs. Or maybe the howling means that he loves her and is singing along?

7. My Bombay has no musical discrimination. CW and Metal are both fine with her!
But what she really hates is the sound of my laughter when I'm watching Stewart or Colbert. She gives me the Evil Eye from where she's sprawled on my lap, and my braying has woken Her Highness from another of her million naps!
