Kim Kardashian As Lara Croft? That Can't Be Right, Can It?

The Tomb Raider film franchise is on the cusp of a reboot, putting a younger-than-Angelina-Jolie Lara Croft onscreen and spinning a new origin story-type yarn. Could that younger Lara Croft be somehow famous person Kim Kardashian?

The next Tomb Raider flick is reportedly going to shoot in 3D and feature "a far more comic-strip version of Lara," according to a report from Showbiz Spy, who says that Kim Kardashian—who's not really an actress so much as she is a person who gets photographed—is in "negotiations" to take on the role. The rumored potential candidate for a future younger Lara—Kardashian's about 6 years younger than Jolie—is at least taking acting classes.

I've seen at least one movie starring Kim, but it certainly wasn't shown in any theaters, and that one was alright. Maybe it's not such a bad thing...

1. That's not just bad casting. That "John Wayne as Genghis Khan" bad casting.

That's blue-eyed-Chuck-Connors-as-Geronimo bad casting, Kate-Bosworth-as-Lois-Lane bad casting...

Don't make me say. For God's sake, don't make me say it... oh, Lordy, it's just got to be said....

That's KEVIN COSTNER AS ROBIN HOOD bad casting!

(on edit: threw an extra H into Temujin's name... couldn't hurt)

2. Bucky, I would say it's worse than all those other instances of bad casting
At least the people you mentioned are (or were) actors. Kardashian is nothing but a "personality" who plays herself on a stupid "E!" show.
Why doesn't somebody do a movie about how they cast dumbshit rich people in reality TV shows and try and pass it off as entertainment?

4. Kardashian is sort of like a cartoon figure
so, would be right at home playing a character based on a video game.

Jolie was already an accomplished actress when she took the role, so no comparison there.

7. I can sum up the whole Lara Croft franchise with two words : " Boobs , Short shorts"
does the whole male population consist of 12 year old boys ?

9. Well, she won't have to pad
NYROCK: Since we're on the topic of getting into shape, what changes did you go through for your, you know, bust out role as Lara?

ANGELINA: C'mon, I'm not so flat chested to begin with. When I wear a tight T-shirt, I look a certain way. So it wasn't like we had to completely change me. You know, we just had to enhance me a little.

I'm a 36C. Lara, she's a 36D. And in the game, she's a double D, so we took her down some. But we did give her a bit of padding there. For me, it was simply one size. So it was like having a padded bra. But no, I am not flat chested anyway.

So we still made it Lara Croft, but we didn't go to any extremes. And Lara doesn't apologize for herself, and for having that, you know, recognizable shape. So I'm not going to apologize for her either. Personally, I wouldn't want those breasts. They seem kinda funny to me.

But we did want to put in something for those hardcore game fans. Lara has those big breasts in the game. We didn't want to make them as big as in the game, but at the same time we didn't want to take away from her the things that are, you know, her trademarks.

But I don't know what all this fixation is about anyway. There are certainly lots of women in movies with big breasts. I mean, there are a lot of actresses with huge breasts, and characters with nothing but cleavage.
