6. No, but I feel that way about Dave Matthews and Jimmy Buffett
Matthews knows one fucking song, and his audience cannot articulate the meaning of "soap and hot water."

Buffett is an assclown who made a fucking fortune out of being counterculture and then marketing the shit out of his "brand" to the point where using "counterculture" to describe him in 2010 is pointless.

But Buford "Walking Tall" Pusser once kicked Buffet's drunken ass (Buffet told the story in a Oui Magazine interview in the 70's...he got drunk in a club, wandered outside, couldn't find his car, stood on the hood of someone else's car to see if he could spot it, and the car belonged to Pusser, who proceded to stomp the everloving shit out of him.

I am hopefully waiting for Matthews to stand on the hood of someone's car. Even if it's fucking ERKEL. If Erkel can school him, then bring it ON, biyatch.

:eyes:

9. If Matthews and Buffet got into a fight, who would you root for?
I actually like them both but if I'm ever in a boat passing under a bridge in Chicago, I hope it's Jimmy's tour bus overhead...

15. I've seen Jimmy Buffett just once
he opened for Frank Zappa back in the fall of 1975 at Cole Field House, University of Maryland.....wrong, just wrong, and he was booed and jeered.....

Van Morrison? Seriously?

Nirvana- well, channeling The Pixies (not a bad thing at all), but I think everyone has gotten used to it by now. Also they have some lovely songs, and some very sharp ones.

13. I like them both
Van Morrison falls into that Bob Marley category, performers who are liked by pretty much anyone with a lick of sense.

I was born the same year as Kurt Cobain, and I think we had a lot of the same musical touchstones growing up. Unlike many of his grunge progeny, Cobain knew how to combine raw aggression with pop songwriting skill.

19. I respect but don't much enjoy Nirvana. Van Morrison, on the other hand,
is the Belfast Cowboy, a legend in popular music, one of the best singers in his era.

Arguably, he recorded the greatest love song ever, Tupelo Honey.

22. Never was a big Van Morrison fan
Maybe like 4 or 5 of his songs, including the early stuff when he thought he was Mick Jagger.

But I can't say I ever felt insulted by his music. Usually just bored.
