Can we do a DU tribute to iconic songs....
...and - in my personal opinion - one of the most under appreciated vocalists ever...

3. More DU synchronicity--was just talking about Procol Harum no more than 4 hours ago.

I had a friend that was so well known as a fan that his passing several years ago was announced on their website. A truly unique and incredibly creative band. Still think my all time fave is the live full orchestral version of Conquistador ( although as a New Mexican, as is my DU music buddy mix, I always have to laugh a little at their pronunciation: con Kwist a dor )

5. I love the Simpsons' tribute to In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida.

Of course, it's a great song. You probably know the original lyrics: "In the Garden of Eden." Reportedly, one night the singer was so drunk he couldn't manage the pronunciation of the lyrics, and the fans loved it. Being a band which needed bread badly, they changed the lyrics to the current form. Or so legend has it.

6. I had the single! Yes the 45 rpm single kids!
believe the b-side was Conquistador (which I also loved and is mentioned upstream).

while not a huge fan of the tv show 'House' the twisted doc played the intro on one of the eps this season(i think, could've been a rerun)....a timeless song. :-)

8. Procol Harum
When you have a hit song, you write another one
similar to the first and hope to further cash in
on your success.
Sometimes, the similar song is (IMO) superior to
the original.
