I just watched my sister...
get married. On the internet. She and her husband (then fiance) had planned a vacation to Vegas, and decided while they were there they'd get married. They've been living in sin for 2 years, so they figured it was time. They had a very nice garden ceremony, and for those who couldn't go to Vegas, we were able to watch via the internet.

How cool is that?! I was unable to go, and thought I'd miss her getting married. I'm very happy I got to see it. :-)

2. Why does everyone call it the "internets" plural
Is it a DU thing or an internet(s) thing?

To the OP... I'm glad you got to see the wedding. I hope your sister and her husband will have many happy years ahead. :hi:

3. It's a DU thing.
Mocking when Bush referred to "hearing there's rumors on the Internets."

5. It's right up there with misunderestimating someone or referring to someone as a "moran"

13. Not just a DU thing, though...
More of an internet thing in general. I've heard plenty of radio and TV personalities use the term as well.

9. Did they get married by Elvis? The Internets wedding idea is neat!
Congratulations to the happy couple-many happy years ahead!

10. No, Elvis didn't marry them...
it was quite nice. A little garden wedding, complete with wedding dress and tux. I told her I'd disown her if she let an Elvis impersonator marry her. :-)

12. Did they decide while they were in Vegas?
Or did they make the decision before they left?

Either way, this seems like a financially sound way to get hitched. Way better than some of the over-priced, over-planned extravaganzas that happen too often.

Congratulation to both of them.

:hi:
