5.  I eliminate those chunky croutons that scratch your gums
or get soggy in the vinegrette - the veggies/fruit/nuts, and assorted garnish bits stay - the more the merrier.

18. Celery
because it does not belong in a salad, and it's sole purpose is to be slathered in peanut butter and eaten separately.

Radish will be tolerated as long as it's not in big, horking chunk form.

Raisans, cranberries, pumpkin seeds....they don't belong.

28. You can have my walnuts.
I can't eat them. I don't mean I'm allergic, I mean my body refuses to ingest them. If I taste them in my mouth, I can't swallow. If I eat something with them in it and manage to get it down, it comes back up. The smell of them makes me "green in the gills".

I hate walnuts. My body rejects them...it's not sure what they are, but it's pretty certain it ain't food.

33. Carrots. Ick.
I only like them cooked.

Also, thankfully most people don't put fennel and its loathsome sisters (licorice, anise) in salads very often, but if they did, I'd be involuntarily hurling up the whole salad ON the table.

Also, can I cast a vote for lettuce? It doesn't disgust me, it...just seems to serve no meaningful purpose. It's not all that nutritious and doesn't have much flavor. Hell, I think in most deli sandwiches that use it you could substitute cool green crunchy paper and I wouldn't notice. When I make salads for myself and my friends, I don't use it at all - I use spinach and mustard greens for the base.

35. cucumbers
they make me gag.

Then again I don't eat most tossed salads. I have texture issues and don't like the texture of raw veggies (I will eat them cooked). When I make a salad it's fruit, cheese, and lettuce.
