Not really. :D

My Mom's maiden name is pretty unique - not that I think that would necessarily compromise my identity, but the question just reminded me of the conversation I have every time I call my bank.

28. The fake name has meaning, therefore you don't forget it.
I know people who use a grandmother's maiden name or a friend's surname instead. Easy to remember, somewhat harder for an ID thief to exploit.

Often the kind of ID thief who would know your mother's maiden name is the kind who knows you -- an ex, an extended family member, a friend. Using a different name just lessens that risk.
