Maybe it's not funny, I don't know, but it struck me as quite funny when I first saw it.
Kahala Mall in the early 90s (don't know if this is still true) (this is by Diamondhead on Oahu) had one hallway that was totally fucking long and had no stores in it - just a long, long hallway with a door at one end, and the other end opening up into the center of the mall. The walls of that hallway were all the backs of other stores.
Anyway, one long-ass hallway, and at the end a bunch of double-doors exiting out/entrancing in.
Nothing at all in the hallway - no art, nothing on the walls.
Except one little plaque - about 1 inch by 3 inches, on one wall, about 2 feet from the doors and 5 feet high, that had "EXIT" on it in English and in Braille.
Not on both sides of the hallway, not at the end of the hallway that opened into the mall.
Just that one spot. Hundred or more feet of hallway, devoid of anything, except that one plaque.
I found it absurd.
