I am in Spokane, Washington
I got hassled by a couple of jerks at a dock this morning. I don't know why people feel like they have to be assholes sometimes, but these guys were really good at it so I guess they might be full time assholes. I couldn't say anything to them about it, either. Trucking has a customer service aspect to it sometimes. I don't know how those of you in that line of work do it all the time. I'd go apeshit.

But, yeah, I'm in Spokane and I'll be here until at least midnight and possibly most of the weekend if I want to be. I don't have to be over in Seattle until Monday morning. So if anyone wants to grab a cup of joe at the Petro just west of town, give me a holler. I'll be around for a while.

2. Oh Tobin I don't miss those assholes one little bit!
I'm glad you were able to keep your calm. I'd join you for coffee I'm afraid you'd be gone by the time I got there. :)

Truck still running well?

Thinking good thoughts for you.

3. My truck is getting there
Edited on Fri Aug-06-10 07:41 PM by Tobin S.
I made it out to Spokane without breaking down and it ran good through the mountains. I did have a bit of a problem there in South Dakota. Every time I tried to run the truck at high RPM I'd lose power. At first I thought it was the turbo. Then I thought I might be getting a fuel filter clogging up on me. Then I thought that maybe it was bad fuel.

I had to get more fuel and I knew where I could get a new filter down the line. I knew I'd be screwed anyway if it was the turbo. So I ran with it after I filled up the tanks. Had a little bit of a problem with it on a hill in eastern Montana, but ever since then it's run beautifully.

I don't know. I guess someone could have pissed in my tanks or something. :)

4. yikes, anything is possible.
How's the temp running through the hills? Do you have a pyrometer that you can watch .. we always shifted by the pyrometer as opposed to RPM through the mtns. .. better fuel mileage, more power too ...

dunno

5. The truck isn't overheating
It get's up to about 210, then the fan kicks in and cools it down. I've honestly never heard of a pyrometer, so don't make fun of me.

you might want to check it out Tobin, seriously. If you're going to be running the hills you could save yourself some hard earned money and increase the life of your engine too.

10. The Road goes ever on and on

The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began
Now far ahead the road has gone
And I must follow, if I can
Pursuing it with eager feet
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet
And whither then? I cannot say
