Serious plumbing question:
I know people that do it both ways...are you supposed to use pipe dope with compression fittings? Or Teflon tape for that matter? Will it screw up the connection if you use it?

8. Only if there is a defect in the pipe or fitting
The pipe may not be perfectly round and such in which case I'll use pipe dope.
