what's the best way to clean the tv screen.....it's getting pretty funky...

can't use any liquid cleaner on it can I??? I do dust it, but the screen itself is kinda smeared.....ugh. Help

1. Is it an LCD screen?

Myself, I use a half/half mix of water and vinegar, spray a portion of a soft cloth and wipe my LCDs with it, then dry off with the dry portion of the cloth. Microfiber cloth is good but I use those white car polishing cloths that come in ten-packs - they're made from the same kind of cotton as cloth diapers.

2. I use multipurpose lens cleaner and a microfiber cloth.

3. Use an already-used dryer/fabric softener sheet as a dust cloth.

The fabric softener helps reduce the static charge that attracts and holds dust (or so it was explained to me). This method has worked pretty well for me and it allows for a longer time between cleanings.

5. OfficeMax has a "LCD/monitor cleaning system" that works great.

It isn't very expensive. It has a spray and an applicator with pads you put on it. They last a long time and work on pretty much any screen. If it has a glass front (CRT), you can just use glass cleaner and a soft cloth. This is for flat screen and laptop monitors.
