Sincerely: What am I missing (good) about Jimmy FALLON?!1
I will cede from the start that I am hopelessly pop-culture impaired. Beyond that, going by just by what this person presents in front of my eyes without historical context:

Is he subtle? So low-key, understated that it is *I* that miss his funniness and am clueless, which is possible.

Background: I have never seen more than snips of his performances, never a whole one of his show. Last night he was with Larry KING who tried his dangdest to build him up. This I let play the whole hour (in the background, not looking at it). Nothing was funny. Nothing of a personality. No edginess. He appears to be consciously ingratiating to the powers-that-be ("brownnosing").

Really, any explanations of him will be appreciated.

1. you are missing nothing
He is a terrible interviewer, he laughs at his own jokes CONSTANTLY, including breaking character to do so, and, well, he's just not funny.

I can take a comic being not funny, happens all the time. But how do you suck at interviewing when you have a freaking talk show? He spends half the interview telling the guest a story, and the other half in awkward silence.

3. Keanu Reeves is considered a big-name actor
that tells you all you need to know about show business.

He really dragged Tina Fey down, couldn't keep a straight face to save his life. It's said that Fallon didn't even Audition for WU, and that Lorne picked him because his looks appealed to the teenyboppers.

This proves what I've always said: Never trust the taste of teenyboppers.

6. He reminds me of the obsequious little nerd who hung out with the cool kids, making lame jokes.
The cool kids didn't like him, but tolerated his sucking up.

Everybody else hated him.

Yep, he's that guy.

9. He's terrible
Bad at stand-up, bad in sketches (dating back to SNL) and can't interview.

Fortunately, there are options:
