2. Tomato pies as in pizza?
We always called them tomato pies, growing up near Trenton, NJ.

4. Exactly...

...I think it's mainly a Jersey/Philly/MAYBE New York hardcore
Italian thing -- in the same way "spaghetti sauce" is "tomato gravy".

6. I never understood the gravy thing.
Gravy is a thing made from what's left in the pan/pot after you cook meat.
I never heard it called gravy until I went out with an Italian American girl.
I have had the best tomato pie. I live in upstate NY now. I'd give my left nut
for a slice of tomato pie from DeLorenzo's in Trenton, NJ.

Fuck........now I have to drive 5 hours. To get a tomato pie.

Let me tell you about Delorenzo's. Tomato pie and soda only. No rest rooms.
No apps.
And yet people will stand in line in the rain and snow to get in. It's that good.
A thin crust that stays crisp. Tomato that taste like tomato and don't get me
started about the cheese.
Delorenzo's always wins best pizza in Philadelphia. Philly is an hour away.

Pure delite.

That's it.....I'm gonna drive to NJ. I think I'll have a pork roll sandwicth while I'm there.

Spell check is down by the way. So please excuse. The spelling nazi's are gonna be all over
this post.

The spelling nazi's

No, that's possessive. You meant to say "The spelling nazis."

:hide:

God, do I fucking want to slap the shit out of people who "correct" other people's posts. I wanna slap them and slap them and slap them until their mommy opens the basement door and says "are you OK down there, honey?"

I hate those little fucks almost as much as the ones who post "DUPE" or "ALREADY POSTED" but not quite. Those little S.O.B.s always must be slapped HARDEST and FIRST. The minute they post "DUPE" they should hit the deck, sobbing and asking "WHY did you SLAP me?"

So CELEBRATE your grammatically imperfect post, my friend, CELEBRATE it...that's your right as an AMERICAN.
