My niece and nephew (13 and 11) have their own Youtube channel, are big Monty Python fans (their mother and uncle raised them well) and are turning their hand to comedy.

Yes, I am biased, but I think they are doing pretty good for a couple of kids working with a webcam and improving their own material:

2. Both are pretty sharp

scarily so at times (the youngest has had a lot of health issues and spent the 9+ years of his life in and out of hospitals, I have seen him lecture interns on proper medical procedure. She picked up sarcasm at age 4, which is definitely from my side of the genetic pond).

Both are pretty voracious readers, and have pretty eclectic tastes for your "typical American" kids: TV/music habits are "Doctor Who", "Scrubs", "Firefly", "The IT Crowd", Weird Al, Queen, Carbon Leaf, Tom Lehrer (she is learning the "Elements Song") and "Sherlock Holmes" (the new series) from BBC 1,
and books from Harry Potter to Jeeves * Wooster, to vintage Mad Magazine.
