NuclearDem's truck breaks down, causes aggravation

Starter decided to all of a sudden stop working tonight. Normally, it's something I would fix myself...but a new starter alone is close to $150...and frankly, it's going to be freezing out this weekend.

So now, I begin the process of getting AAA and my usual shop involved...and I'm out of my transportation for the weekend, or maybe all next week.

Well, at least I don't have a job I won't be able to get to.

1. You don't have a job and your going to spend money on getting the

starter done, just because the weather's a little chilly?
How long does it take to do a starter. I never had one take more than 20 minutes. And that included shimming.
Bring the new one and the truck over here, and I'll have it done in 30 minutes, tops.

If so, I'd greatly appreciate the help. The process itself shouldn't take more than an hour, like you said...but the electrical system is usually something I tend to avoid.

Only problem is, I can't get the truck to actually start...so it might be delivered via tow.

2. Give the truck a stern talking to. Point out that the ONLY reason it's not going to the junker

immediately is that you're a really nice person. Lay out some clear limits and groundrules
