1. Saddest part of it all is that I remember when these were almost new
Edited on Fri Apr-02-04 08:23 PM by Rabrrrrrr
they predate me by a year, but I still grew up with them.

Now they're forty years old.

Which means, sadly, so am I.

My God, we're two generations away from the "don't trust anyone over 30" generation.

2. Excellent list, amazing year!
British invasion meets surf music meets prime American R&B.

3. An amazing array of music.
And every bit as amazing as the rest was "Hold What You've Got" by Joe Tex.

4. I copy and save your lists in Word, I hope you don't mind. Any 'new'
purchases I make anymore are all classic music. I bought a great CD a couple of weeks ago for $7.00 called Classic R&B Hits. Songs like Lonely Teardrops, Stagger Lee, Let the Good Times Roll, Try Me, I Want to Walk You Home, It's All In The Game, Please Please Please, Don't Let Go, etc. (you get the picture). I play it constantly. I've also purchased the Greatest Hits of Little Anthony & The Imperials. God I love that old stuff.

Anyway, your lists remind me of stuff that I want. So if I have a few bucks to spare, I go looking for old stuff. Your lists remind me of stuff that I want, so use them when I go looking.

6. I didn't realize that some of those songs were quite that old.
I was only 9 years old then, and I remember listening to a lot of those tunes on the radio.

Glad to see the song GTO on the list; I'm the only one I know who remembers that song. A bit of weird trivia: Jimmy Hart from the WWF (he was a manager in the WWF back when I first watched it in the late '80s), was a member of the band who did the song GTO.
