Green tea. I can't be the only one suspecting it has a negative side.
Actually, this fits with my history of not fitting well with my fringe years as a marginal hippie: I tried the health foods and vitamins. Anybody remember Dr Roger J. WILLIAMS, the discoverer of pantothenate acid, one of the B-complex vitamins, and how the B-complex vitamins were good for the nerves and needed to be in the form of a natural ratio found in yeast, not "balanced" as in all of the Bs in equal percentages.

I really did give vitamins a good run for years, but then I got old and the medical word was that some of the vitamins, or extra high doses, not to mention grapefruit, inhibit or are negative towards some medications. So I finally ditched the vitamins.

O.K., so I've tried ginsing and a couple of other things, and the taste and sort of edginess were turn-offs.

But then there was the green tea barrage, just tons of spiel about great and magical effects. I tried it a few years ago, a fair trial of weeks/months, and the taste just never grew on me. Back then I didn't seem to notice actually negative effects. This time, I gave it a new trial of a couple of weeks, and eschewing other drinks, and this was a diet green tea (same as before), that had a small amount of caffeine. And it was two weeks of sleep more disrupted than usual, plus more nightmares, plus edgy nerves and touchiness. I stopped the green tea and everything seemed to improve.

Can it be *just* me?/??!1 (Bracing ...)

1. you mean other than tasting like dehydrated lawn clippings?
I dunno. I never got past the taste long enough to find out...and that's saying something because I drink Panax Ginseng and Kombucha.

3. how much are you drinking and what time of day are you drinking it?
Also, are you on any medications? Certain meds do not mix with green tea.

5. I would not drink it in the afternoon and there is really no need to
drink it at all if you don't care for the taste. You can get the benefits from other sources.

I definitely would not drink it for an hour from taking you meds.

6. You know that you are supposed to take the water off before it boils for green tea. And you steep it
only for 1 1/2 minutes. Otherwise it tastes bad.

7. Don't hate me for not being a gourmet: The stuff I was drinking was Lipton's
out-of-the-plastic-bottle. :hide:
