So I am watching the Name of the Rose....
The movie is obviously going for complete authenticity.

You can tell because of the squalor, the choice of locations, even the weird ass hair styles that was the rage, supposedly, back in the 13th century.

But when it came to introducing a love interest for Christian Slater, the beautiful Valentina Vargas, they decided to stay right smack in the middle of the 20th century. By that I mean she had a completely shaved body, no hair anywhere on her body except of course on her head. And she was squeaky clean under neath her filthy clothing.

Of course they smudged her face a little bit here, a little bit there but when her naked body was on display, all I could think of was where are the staple marks?

My question is this: why bother going for authenticity when you do something like this?

2. The biggest library in the world at that time
only had about 100 books in it, so more than just one inaccuracy.
