"That said"
What's with this "That said" shit? I used to only see this on Yelp, "That said, the food was yummy and they filled the water glasses". But now the god damn thing seems to be everywhere like a virus.

4. It's like it's necessary that an opinion express both the pros & cons anymore.
As if the opinion had any merit in the first place.

2. Just another evolutionary tick in our language.
:)

By the way, does anyone ever say "Blast!" when they cuss anymore? I can remember my father saying it, but can't find it anywhere in any dictionary, slang-dictionary included.

3. I know "that blasted...."
Anymore it's fucking this, fucking that. There was an upstanding regulation couple in the next booth last night, every other word was fuck, that said,...

6. If you've ever seen the original movie "The Ghost and Mrs. Muir".
in it, the ghost uses "blast" all the time and Mrs. Muir is often quite shocked at his "language". I'd love to know it's origin :)

As for the other vulgarities, I just try not to use them in public too much. Not that I don't know all of the seven deadlies... ;)

10. In related news, I still say 'Boss' with no sign of stopping.
Edited on Fri Aug-12-11 08:47 PM by Iggo
"Boss" the adjective, that is. As in "That chick has some boss hair, man."
