1. Will this include unrecs (I think that would be even more interesting)...
.
.
.
...and where there is recognition of behavior, there is
often more considered and thoughtful (thought-filled?)
behavior.

2. I think not. Skinner's latest DU3 sample was a screenshot and I didn't see unrecs on it. I'm glad.
I rarely use unrecs but I do think there are lots of trolls where unrec's are concerned. You see lots of uncontrovertial threads that get unrec'd numerous times...when you'd be sure 99% of DUers would agree. So I'm glad if they no longer exist.

3. It might, but it wouldn't stop the unrec whiners.
The egos and their groupies would have a direction for their anger. War and chaos would ensue. The big forums would become battlefields littered with deleted messages and locked threads.

5. this would be a good way to smoke out the trolls who rec up each other's posts.
It will be pretty obvious when the same handful of user names rec posts that 99% of DUers disagree with.

7. Maybe change the name of the thing from Rec
A different forum I visit has a "Thanks" button below each post - people indicate if they found the information in the post by clicking the "Thanks" button. Every member who thanked the poster is listed below that post.

I like the "Thanks" button there. It allows a quick assessment on how useful a particular post it. And I really like that each individual post can be thanked, not just the thread as a whole. I don't mind having my username come up since it is always a positive message.

They have no negative like the Unrec here. I don't like the idea that Unrecs would have the names listed because of the negativity. If the names are listed, get rid of the Unrec.
