I was speaking to my younger brother recently, and through some misguided sense of *trying to make things better* (for the Iraqis, not the US) he actually is considering enlisting...I am just SICK imagining if he were over there now. I can't possibly begin to guess how those of you who actually have family members there now feel.

To all of you, and to all families in anguish right now following this latest news, I wish you peace, love, and many, many good thoughts. :cry:

My favorite cousin - who happens to be a Republican - is stationed at Camp Anaconda. We always enjoyed arguing politics and social issues at the dinner table on family occasions, he in the role of Novak and me as James Carvile-in-a-skirt (only this was waaaaay before Crossfire), and drove everyone around us up a wall with it.

14. I just found out a day or two ago that a friend was sent over

49 years old in the reserves. Sent over for active duty. :eyes:

I have a sick sick feeling he's not coming back though I pray I'm wrong.

18. We have a grandson there

Today has not been a good day! E-mail from our grandson yesterday said not to mail anymore pkgs because of base closure. He will be deployed to an undisclosed location and will not be able to recieve mail there. We are indeed very worried and not knowing where he will be is unbelieveable! I hate bush and his fucking war!!!

29. I have taken to viewing the names of those lost on a daily basis and

I have been encouraging friends and neighbors (especially those who seem to have forgotten that we are losing our troops over there) to do the same. It really hits home when I am in the midst of the small crises that we suffer in my house. Too many faces...one would be too many.

On a small note, very small: It is just killing me that my daughter loves Civil Air Patrol and wants to go to West Point or the Air Force Academy. Part of me wants to hold her down and say, NO! The other part realizes it her life. But, I highly doubt we'll be out of there by the time she is able and ready ( :cry:) to die for BushCo.

Hugs to all who have suffered from this in anyway....and I think that means all of us.
