I have heard that song a thousand times in my lifetime, I knew every word while I was watching this video. Except one.

I always, always thought they were saying one TOE over the line. I heard this song and sang along all through the seventies, never knowing it was about pot.

4. I saw that on youtube awhile back, cracked me up.
Remember KC Casum's top 40 show well, he said that they said that 'one toke over the line' had something to do with not having enough bus tokens or something. Me? Well, I was too young to have heard of pot, believe it or not, I was on my first real plug-in a.m. clock-radio.
