I'm going to see the taping of "The Daily Show" today

3. That is so cool! And I've been there, too, April 15, 2008, LOL.

I've also been in the audience at Letterman, where you just wait in line and walk in, but there was real security at The Daily Show. We had to go through metal detectors, take off our belts and my purse was checked, FYI.

But everything was very good humored and the warm up comedian was a lot of fun. Jon Stewart was also very nice, took questions, and when one woman in the audience asked about the notes he keeps, he gave them to her after the show... :D

It's been documented that Letterman has. If extra security is what it takes, it's sad, but I'm all for it.

12. The strange thing was that there was nothing like that for Letterman.

We just waited in line and then were directed to seats. There was some coaching, however, LOL. We were told that Dave is encouraged by an enthusiastic audience, so we were encouraged to laugh and applaud and warned not to groan or boo... :rofl:

Dave was also extremely cordial, came out before the show and took questions and actually came out afterwards to thank everyone for being there. Nice guy... :)

8. UPDATE: I laughed so hard my face hurt!

Oh, man, it was so worth it to go! The waiting was a little long (they overbook; first come first served) but once the doors opened at 2:30 things moved along quite well. The staff was courteous and able, the seats comfortable, and the bathrooms clean. I wasn't real-thrilled with the airport-style security, but at least if you're carrying a knife or pepper spray they'll hold them for you until the taping is over.

The warm-up guy was pretty funny, and he had a great back-and-forth with an elderly couple in their 80's, Sheldon and his wife. Sheldon was more than able to hold his own! :rofl:

Jon came out a few minutes before the taping started and took questions, and that was pretty funny too. He brought a lot of great comedic energy to the set, and he was really friendly.

And the show was great. I didn't get home in time to see the broadcast, but my brother, his sister-in-law, and my friend were all doubled over with laughter and hoarse from cheering!

The bit from John Oliver was spasm-inducing; I want that older California state congressman to run for President or something. He was spectacular! :rofl: :rofl: :rofl:
