KINKADE, CLAY AIKEN, *, N'STINK, AND HOME INTERIORS SUCK DONKEY LUNGS
My politically charged celebratory 10,000th post to condemn all that which is artless and derivative and inconsequential but which is consumed in mass quanitites by the American (and rest of the world) public.

Down with pablum!

Long live the artists!

I took a walk to the old National Geographical Society buildings today. Carved into the stone of one of the art buildings (one of those gothic style buildings which had stone in which to carve things), I can't remember exactly because it was worded very archaicly (in order to fit the gist of the statement into the small space in which it had to work), but it said, in effect, "All that exists passes, but art outlives everything". the real wording began "All passes, art alone something something", which might have been "all passes, art alone lives on", which is as you can see a much more efficient wording, and entirely filled the width of the building, so my retranslation, though easier to read, would never have fit. Quite ingenious of them to get into such a small set of words - a real work of art itself.

YAY ART!

YAY ME FOR 10,000 POSTS!

Go Rabrrrrr! Go Rabrrrrrr! (doing that little butter-churning dance thing) Go Rabrrrrrr! Go Rabrrrrrr! (continuing that little butter-churning dance thing)

3. Congrats on 10,000 Rabrrrrrr.
This will be my 9954th, so I am thinking about what to say to celebrate the occasion.

Down with pablum! I refused to eat baby food as a baby, so I totally understand what you are talking about.

6. No, no mashed peas! Me want roast leg of lamb with tarragon butter
sauce and a foie gras/truffle stuffing with a side of blanched aspargus and pomme frites. Pronto! And for every wilted piece of wilted lettuce in my ceasar salad, I shall kill you!

7. Jeez, I want that too.
But I will have roast leg of lamb Sunday at My Big Fat Greek Orthodox Easter! Note, I am not Greek Orthodox, just have relatives who are.

Shall I send you a doggie bag?

9. Doggie bag, yes please!
I went to a seder tonight, and I assumed they'd be serving lamb, so I *didn't* make lamb on Tuesday night. Lo and behold, they served chicken. So, no lamb for me, and I'm not gonna cook a lamb on Sunday for easter when I'm leaving on a trip afterward. Oh, well. Another time!

Enjoy your Orthodox Easter! I've never gone to an Orthodox Easter service, nor had a meal with Orthodox people, though I've been to an Orthodox baptism and some regular services. I can only assume that not only will the food be really, really good, there will be really, really a lot of it. Enjoy! :-)

11. Opaaaaaa!
Yes, I am certain the food and wine will flow freely. Not going to any service (eek!), but have been to Greek Orthodox weddings and funerals. It'll be too cold and wet in Chicago to barbecue the lamb on the front lawn, and I assume that my yuppie sort of in-laws wouldn't do that anyway. What do you call an inlaw's relatives? Outlaws?

Have a great trip to Nippon. Spent a foggy layover at Narita one time en route to Beijing.

8. In honor of you, my friend, Rabrrrrr, I present you with the
Most nausea-inducing Kink-Aid painting I could find.

SICK!

I have a great idea for a Kink-Aide painting...I'm thinking the Painter of Light should make at least one painting of something very ugly. I suggest a concentration camp.

HAPPY 10000 RABRRRRRR!

10. Oh, that's absolutely terrible! Thanks!
One of the tackiest things I've seen in a long time. I'm pretty liberal when it comes to my Christian imagery, but even *I* would never, could never, use a piece of furniture that has a cross on it.

That's just sickening.

Someday when I get around to doing to my black velvet Elvis Christ series, maybe I'll desecrate one (won't say how, since I don't want to get into moderator trouble) and mail it to Kinkade.

12. I'll use my imagination
I'm thinking bodily fluid.

I can't imagine propping myself up against a stitched pillow with a crucifix on it. There's something unnerving about it.

I'm very curious about it. I hope,. when I get the chance, that it actually IS brutally bitter, and that "brutal" isn't just a marketing gimmick.

And thanks!

but I've not had a bad experience with Rogue yet, either. I tend to prefer bitter brews myself. I don't care for sweet stuff unless it has plenty of sour to go with it!

25. Demon? I didn't go to eight years at Miskatonic U. to be called a demon
Edited on Fri Apr-09-04 12:36 AM by Rabrrrrrr
I am a ninth level devil from the very bowels of hell itself. Being a devil, I'm in management, being ninth level I'm in executive management, as opposed to a demon, which is roughly equivalent to hourly, though some are in middle-management (which is where the most extreme versions of evil are, if I might offer a little inside secret, but please don't tell anyone).

Thanks for the congrats!

p.s. - did I mention that I'm batrachian?

Just so long as we don't take them too seriously, or give them too much credit. :-)
