A good Texas morning. Have the day off, sun is out, and bluebonnets are
in full bloom. I love this part of the year. We'll pay the price, however, when June hits. I'm going to enjoy it while I can. I'm going out to work in the yard and get away from this beast called a computer. If the weather is good in your area, I suggest you get out, too.

1. Thats what I plan to do today.
Yes, the bluebonnets are beautiful as usual. My big plan for the day....wash my sheets and hang them on the line to dry. Nothing in the world smells better than line dried sheets.

6. Oh GIE let me tempt you
How about a balcony view from a narrow little street in Louisiana? I'm retired so I don't get a day off or a weekend or a holiday. I just have to take every day as it comes. I'm not asking for sympathy; (just another beer).

12. where are you?
I think we here in SW PA can put away the salt and shovels. I think. But you never know. My flowers are still blooming, but I think the tulips are stunted from the 20 degree temps two days ago. It is sunny and 50 here today. (note: where I live, the sun is somewhat of an unusual occurrence.

Well hang in there, spring will come.

11. My drive north from Houston to Greenville yesterday...
was just gorgeous. I saw at least a half dozen families out taking pictures of their little ones in the bluebonnets. The wildflowers are just stunning this year.

My momm and I are planting flowers in the yard later on today. Gawd I love Spring. :)

at 8am to put out the mail. Beautiful, crisp morning. I wish our summers could be like this.

Ever drive down Centerville south of Miller to where they have the large patches of flowers planted to the right? Always people there taking pictures and generally having a good time.

21. Yep! Saw some today.
Went down to Big Lots to grab some more flower seeds and assorted doo-dads, and saw some folks posing on my way back.

We should all hang out. In a town of only 15% Democrats, we need all the help we can get!

15. Texas Spring is the best 2 week period EVER!
Aside from the allergy issue here in Austin, everything is wonderful. Bright sun, cool breeze, and nothing beats the first bluebonnet sighting. Add the smell of freshly cut grass and a good cup of coffee and it's damn near perfect.

I'm taking Wellstone to the lake for the first time this weekend. He's going to go nuts. I still need to develop the pictures of him so I can post show everyone what he looks like.

17. Hey, I'm was getting out the MSMA to kill the weeds today (Saturday)
But the weather forecast calls for rain. Will have to put it off.

Wish we had HEB in the metroplex. Everyone tells me they have the finest meats of any supermarket chain in Texas.

24. I preferred Simon David's meats.
Are they still around?

I think HEB meats are hit-or-miss. They are not "Prime", but "Select". I usually have a difficult time finding a good roast that isn't gristle-ly. The ribeyes usually have a good deal of fat in them, but frankly, I enjoy the richness it imparts when grilling steaks.

23. Went through Round Top this weekend.
The trip up hwy 77 was beautiful with bluebonnets and an assortment of other wildflowers. Lovely time of year with moderate temps, but we got hammered tonight with the thunderstorms.
