Who else is having Easter alone?
I will sing two services that morning and then spend the rest of the day alone, I fear.

1. Awww... you're welcome at my home
But that would probably mean you'd miss your two services.

2. I might have breakfast with friends.
That's the plan anyway. But my parents are on a trip out of town. A cruise actually.

I'm not very religious, and neither are my parents, but we usually have Easter dinner.

It'll be just another Sunday for me.

4. I"m in NYC
I will probably hang out with friends Sunday evening, so it's not as bleak as it looks, but it's not a big family thing for me. My family is in NC.

8. Oh, believe me
...I'm an old hand at spending time alone! I'm way too comfortable with it! But since this is a time everyone talks about family, I got started thinking....

13. aw, screw that thinking
in all those family gatherings there's probably some who don't want to be there and most of them are not being themselves. Many times they are very stressfull.

11. I'm not having it at all
It was never a big holiday in my family. We died eggs and ate chocolate but that was about it; nothing like the family significance of Thanksgiving or Christmas. I think I was in my 20s before I realized that it was a big deal for some families.

12. What church do you sing at?
I was thinking of maybe going out for brunch in the afternoon - perhaps we can begin to form a small NYC DU Easter Sunday meal dining team?

16. What a terrific idea!
I sing at a UCC (United Church of Christ) church in Greenwich. Nice folks there.

18. Way over in CT, eh?
Edited on Fri Apr-09-04 11:47 AM by Rabrrrrrr
Well, I'm up for a Manhattan-based Easter brunch. Perhaps Dim Sum? Yummy! If not, perhaps something else?

heh heh - and I'm probably one of the few people alive who know what UCC means. Sad, but true. :-) (that's my church - not the one in Greenwich, but the UCC)

17. If your singing at two services
why don't you mention to the pastor/priest or the music director that you will be alone. I'm someone will invite you to their home or many churches have church lunches on Easter. I live far away from you so I can't offer a place.
