Voter registration ideas

Several states (like Texas-- where I live) have an October 6, 2008 deadline for registering to vote. I'm involved in more traditional voter registration drives, but considering the looming deadline I've started doing the following. Thought I would share:

Idea 1-- I have called some radio stations that have "listener request lines" and instead of making a song request I've asked for a reminder by the DJ that voter registration ends soon, that people need to be registered if they want to vote (DUH!), and that people can pick up an application at the post office or public library, or they can download one from justvote.org and mail it in. It works!

Idea 2-- I had my 19 year-old daughter e-blast all her Facebook and MySpace friends (there are hundreds!) with the tongue-in-cheek news that her evil mother (me) is threatening eviction if she cannot come up with the names of 10 friends (or friends of friends) who needed to be registered to vote. We've gotten 6 new registrants so far (and in the process have alerted many others that the registration deadline is approaching).

Any other good ideas out there?
