Attention Kansas City DUers. Protest Bush this Saturday!

This Saturday, a demonstration will take place in Kansas City, Missouri, to coincide with the March on Washington.

The event is organized by the Kansas City Iraq Task Force. This dedicated, hard-working group of individuals has been on the firing line in protesting this corrupt, illegal regime since before the invasion of Iraq by the Bushistas. Every Tuesday evening, I pass by their weekly protest at 63rd and Ward Prkwy. (I would stop and participate but Tuesday evening is my night to pick up and watch the kids). There are a dozen or so participants each week, a number that has held steady for the last several months.

The Task Force also hosts a monthly protest at the JC Nichols Fountain in the Plaza. I’ve attended a few times and seen a crowd of several hundred (just before the invasion) to several dozen (more recently).

So if you live in or around the Kansas City area, try to be there at 4pm this Saturday! A good turnout will help tell the Bushistas that we aren’t going to take this shit any longer!
